Parents, on showing an interest to have their child/children join the school, are asked to complete the LEA lilac Preference Form. The authority is kept informed of numbers of preferences for each year group and if not enough places are available the LEA will administer their admission policy and inform parents of any appeals procedure if required.
The admission limit for our reception year group for the academic year 2007/2008/2009 is 45.
Once admitted to D’Eyncourt Primary School your child will receive a broad balanced and relevant curriculum which is intended to meet his/her needs. The Authority and the School’s Governing Body operate to assist the school in this crucial role. However, legislation provides for you, as a parent/guardian, to formally register a complaint if you feel that either the Authority or the Governing Body is failing the school, and thereby your child's education.
The right to complain is limited specifically to aspects relating to the National Curriculum and Religious Education and Worship. It is hoped that any concerns that you have will be of a minor nature and can be resolved informally with the Headteacher of the School.
1. Informal discussion with the Headteacher or other staff.
2. Formal complaint to the Governing Body submitted in writing through the clerk to the Governing Body or the Director of Education.
3. Formal complaint to the LEA in writing to the Director of Education.
This procedure does not cover complaints about teachers, discipline or admissions.
In all cases the first step is to see the Headteacher for an informal discussion of any problem.
The following documents may be seen and where possible copies taken, in school, upon request to the Headteacher:
The LEA Statement of Curriculum Policy.
DES statutory instruments, circulars and administrative memoranda.
Any published H.M.I. reports which refer to the school.
Current guidelines/schemes of work.
The LEA's agreed syllabus for R.E.
